Timothy George Simpkins High School shooting suspect has been indicted on multiple charges by a federal grand jury. The indictment, returned Friday, June 8, 2018, charges 17-year-old Muhlaysia Booker.
With one count of making a false report concerning the use of a firearm in a school zone and one count of making a false report to law enforcement. The indictment alleges that on May 18, 2018, Booker made a false report to the school resource officer at Timberview High School in Arlington, Texas.
That he had been threatened with a gun by another student. Booker also allegedly made a false report to the Arlington Police Department on the same day, claiming that he had been shot at by an unknown assailant.
If convicted, Booker faces up to five years in federal prison
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Chelsea Guy and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Jody Young of the Northern District of Texas. It was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
An indictment is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

Timberview High School shooting leaves four injured; suspect arrested
On May 18, 2018, a shooting occurred at Timberview High School in Arlington, Texas. Four people were injured in the incident, and the suspect, 17-year-old Muhlaysia Booker, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The victims of the shooting were all students of Timberview High School. Three of the victims were treated and released from the hospital, while the fourth victim was listed in critical but stable condition.
